I'm not a wise man. Nor am I an imbecile. What I do know comes from years of reading, learning, and observing the world around us. I can come to only one conclusion; Humans are governed by 3 laws:

1) Humans are fundamentally lazy
2) Humans are fundamentally stupid
3) Humans are fundamentally greedy

These 3 laws which define human nature aren't insurmountable, however. It merely takes work and energy to overcome our natural tendencies towards stupidity. Unfortunately, this is work and energy on the part of the individual, not from an outside source.  Thus, "you can put a man through school, but you can't make him think."
